AECP Level 1 Lesson 6 All About Layering Layered Lilly

Layered Lilly Card

Today I used the Layered Lilly stamp set to make this card. This was from the All About Layering Class. I wanted to make my card in more muted tones so I chose the Vanilla Cream Crisp Dye Ink from Altenew, the Sunray Crisp Die Ink for the most detail layer of the flowers and the Frayed Leaf Crisp Dye Ink for the leaves. I stamped out the flowers several times to practice and get the best impression I could. Once I had 3 that I liked I cut them out with the matching dies and put many dots around the center of the flower and up the petals with a darker brown ink pen I had in my stash. I cut them out with the coordinating dies. I laid them out on the card front to decide on my configuration. Then I stamped both the solid layer and the detail layer of the leaves with the same color ink. Using the same color ink gave the detail but in a more subtle way.

For the sentiment and ink splattering I used the Label Love stamp set and Milk Chocolate Crisp Die Ink. I put some re-inker on an acrylic block with some water and mixed it together to thin it down. With the brush I was using I tapped the brush against my hand to get spatters across the front and inside of the card. Make sure to use a box to splatter in there is no controlling where splatters go.

Card Inside

I stamped the sentiment “HI” several times, I think it was 4 or 5, to get the color pretty dark. Popped it up on adhesive foam. I curled the flowers back a bit to give them some lift off of the page. I placed them where I decided they would go around the leaves I had already stamped.

On the inside of the card I ink blended, very lightly across the bottom some of that Vanilla Cream Crisp Die Ink which gives the inside of the card some interest as well.
